One Arrested and 600 Bags of Heroin Seized

On November 17, 2016, a motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of a male and the recovery of 600 bags of heroin.
At 2:30 pm, Sergeant Thomas Moynihan conducted a motor vehicle stop in the 900 block of Caspian Avenue.  An investigation by Sergeant Moynihan led to Detective Brian Hambrecht and his K-9 partner Nikki, a narcotic detection canine, responding to the location.  K9 Nikki alerted to the scent of narcotics inside the vehicle.

Officers located 500 bags of heroin in the vehicle.  Curtis Nichols was arrested and was in possession of an additional 100 bags of heroin on him at the time of his arrest as well as more than $5,000.00 in cash which is believed to be drug proceeds.

Advanced handler discrimination

Big thank you to United Miniature Australian Shepherd Club and judges Angela Ogle and Sharon Jonas.  It is the club's first trial and they did a Dr. Seuss theme.  Two firsts and two HITs.
