USMRA 2013 National Championship MR1 (photos)

Big thank you to Rogue Ringsport for hosting a wonderful event, judge Patric Corpataux, decoys Sean Miller, Josh McCleary, Dennis Bilik, field help, sideline help, and sponsors. It was also great to meet and learn from the other exhibitors.

Kludde made a few mistakes and I made a few mistakes but we had a great time.

The theme was the Twin Cities.

The fetch item for level 1 was a rat.

Kludde was one of the few MR1 competitors to do the Defense of Handler correctly.  Good boy.

Mix video of St. Louis trial

It was good times and esp. fun that there was such a mix of breeds.  In addition to Malinois there were Giant Schnauzers, a couple Dutch Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, an American Pit Bull Terrier, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and a Cane Corso.

Kludde and I look forward to going back.

Big Air Summer 2012

Video taken last summer.

After many bad Melissa throws we wanted the dog to actually have a chance to catch it so Dave helped out with a lovely toss.

Sunday video

He and I were a better team on Saturday and the scores and our general connectedness reflected that.  Unfortunately as far as I know there is no video for Sat.  Special thanks to St. Louis Ring Kings, Ann Putegnat, Paul Freeney, Kevin Bain, and all the other helpers on and off the field.

MR1 - Flee attack with Kevin Bain

 Recall

MR1 - Sat Defense of Handler

The scenario was (as much as I can remember) that the dog and I go to the restaurant, I give coffee to the second decoy, the "homeless" man, then sit for coffee myself.  Hit while I was seated.
